Course Description:
Black triangles are common in post-orthodontic and periodontal patients but remain challenging to close predictably. This hands-on course presents reliable restorative solutions using anatomic mylar forms, proper tissue management, and diagnosis of underlying causes. Participants will gain the confidence to close gingival spaces within and even beyond the esthetic zone.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify causes of gingival black triangles.
- Compare restorative and non-restorative treatment options.
- Execute predictable closure techniques using additive materials & predictable polishing techniques
Lauren Yasuda Rainey, DDS
About the Speaker
Dr Lauren Yasuda Rainey is a graduate of the Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific and completed a GPR at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. After owning a dental practice in Northern California, she decided to sell the business and pivot to a clinician/educator career path that she’s thoroughly enjoying today. She has completed advanced clinical training in hospital based care, injection molded composite techniques and surgical microscope training. Over the last 5 years, Dr Rainey has honed her educational content by teaching virtual, live and hands-on programs in the US and abroad. In addition to clinical care and teaching, she sits on the board of Women in Digital Dentistry and the Alumni Association at UOP, participates in dental product evaluations and acts in an advisory capacity to dental product companies. When she’s not thinking about dental materials or teeth, you can find her outdoors looking for sunshine or baking something with butter.
