Pillars of a Thriving Practice: Case Acceptance, Social Media Marketing, and Managing Stress as a Dentist
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM; 1 CE Credit
This course focuses on three foundational pillars essential to building a profitable, sustainable dental practice: case acceptance, social media marketing, and stress management. Participants will learn evidence-based and experience-driven strategies to improve treatment acceptance by understanding patient psychology, communicating value effectively, and presenting treatment with clarity, certainty, and confidence. Emphasis is placed on mindset, simplification of treatment plans and financial options, and building trust through patient-centered communication applicable to fee-for-service, out-of-network, and insurance-based practices.
In addition, the course provides a practical framework for leveraging social media as a cost-effective marketing tool to attract ideal patients, strengthen the know/like/trust factor, and reduce price resistance before the first appointment. The final component addresses stress, decision fatigue, and burnout in dentistry by introducing cognitive tools and systems-based thinking that improve emotional regulation, boundary-setting, and operational clarity. Together, these pillars equip dentists with actionable systems to increase profitability, reduce overwhelm, and create a practice that supports both professional success and personal well-being.

Hands-On Workshop: Advanced Extraoral Injection Techniques for Orofacial Pain Management
Dr. Richard Hirschinger; 2 CE Credits
Limited to 25 attendees. Must be a licensed dentist.
All attendees must give an injection in order to receive an injection.
This course reviews the causes of orofacial pain, including a hands-on session. He will show you how to administer many of the extraoral injections used by orofacial pain specialists. These include trigger-point injections of the head, neck, and shoulders, trigeminal nerve blocks (supratrochlear, supraorbital, infraorbital, and auriculotemporal), and occipital nerve blocks. He will also review the Botox injection sites for patients with jaw pain. *We’ll have a limited supply of Botox available for demonstration, which attendees may purchase. While some attendees may receive small-sample treatments, this is not a full-service appointment, and the amount of individual therapy is not guaranteed. Additionally, the goal of the Botox session is to identify the therapeutic sites that dentists may legally treat in California. The goal is not to train you to be competent in treating patients using the Botox protocols to be taught.*
